Hello my name is Thomas Beddow and I am a second year at the University of Virginia majoring in Biology and Applied Statistics. I became involved in PureMadi because I am passionate about public health and believe that improving water quality is a proactive solution to many health issues. This summer I look forward to using my skills in data analytics to understand how new methods of point source filtration more efficiently and safely improve water quality.
Hello, my name is Emma Taylor-Fishwick and I am a second-year biomedical engineering student with a minor in engineering business. I became involved in this project because I have always had a fascination with water purification. During high school, I became very interested in the use of dispersants for oil spills. Therefore, when I heard about PureMadi, and the great word it does with water purification in South Africa, I knew I wanted to become involved.
Hello, my name is Meredith Sutton and I am a second year at the University of Virginia studying Civil and Environmental Engineering and Environmental Science. I am interested in working on drinking water quality with PureMadi because I believe that environmental and social factors should not prevent access to clean drinking water. I am excited to be able to put my knowledge in water quality assessment and understanding of filtration methods to use this summer.
